Current Beauty Favorites October 2017

Oh happy day! The weather was perfect here today and I got in a good 2.5 mile walk so I am feelin' gooood, y'all! I thought I would round-up a few beauty items I'm using and loving since we are more than halfway through October. Also, can we talk about how I saw Christmas decor in a store the other day and that is NOT ACCEPTABLE. Does this bother anyone else??? I love Advent and Christmas but COME ON. At least let us eat turkey and run each other over for $5 off a 79 in. flat screen first. KIDDING. Anyway, coming down slowly off my soapbox to talk to you about my beauty faves. Enjoy!

1. BareMinerals BarePRO Performance Foundation

This was something I received from Influenster a few months ago, and honestly I was skeptical because I had to choose a shade online and I just figured it wouldn't match that well, etc. Thankfully it matches perfectly, and I love it so much. Keep in mind, it might be a little too matte for you if your skin is typically dry (I have to moisturize well before I use it and I have combo skin). I wear the shade Natural and I use it for days when I need more coverage than my usual BB Cream or Glossier Skin Tint.

2. Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Eye Cream-

I spent time reviewing 90 million eye creams and landed on this one. It is not cheap, but I can't tell you how much money I have wasted on under-eye stuff only to have it burn my skin and be unusable. I love that this does not irritate under my eyes at all, feels great, smells amazing, and does seem to be smoothing out my under-eye area. It is also good for puffiness so I put it on in the evening and sometimes in the morning if I have extra baggage. Don't we all???? Anyway.Another great product sent to me from Influenster is this stuff from Dermologica. It is suuuuper good at getting rid of puffiness. Do you ever have a really bad, crying-into-your-dairy-free-Ben-and-Jerry's kinda night, and the next morning your eyes are swollen and puffy? Same. This stuff fixes that in minutes, not kidding. It is expensive, but it is definitely worth the price.

3. Tarteist Matte Lip in Birthday Suit

REHHHH new favorite lip color. Perfect pinky nude for me. FINALLY. Randomly got it as my Sephora birthday gift and now I need to purchase the full size because I loveee it.

4. Tarte Amazonia Clay 12-Hour Blush in Paaarty

Also super good, and part of my birthday gift. It is long-lasting and such a pretty nude, perfect for everyday wear.

5. Erno Laszlo White Marble Dual Phase Vitamin C Peel

Just got this in the mail from Influenster and I am obsessed. It smells like I am wearing a creamsicle on my face, and my skin feels like I am a newborn so A+. I'll have to follow-up with its claim of fading dark spots and discoloration, but currently loving it.

6. Chanel Chance Eau de Parfum Spray

This is my OG perfume. I have been wearing it since probably ....2009? Maybe? Yes. I swore I would never be a one-scent girl but that's only because I hadn't found THE ONE. Previous favorites before I found my holy grail: Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue, Viktor & Rolf's Flowerbomb. Glossier is also coming out with a new perfume that you can preorder today, but I haven't tried it yet. I'll keep you posted as I always do with my Glossier favorites. I am including this in my October faves because it is heavier so I use it sparingly in the summer and swap it for a lighter body spray of some sort. Side note: does anyone else put their body spray in the fridge so it's extra refreshing on a super hot day?? Steve was weirded out by this but I think it's totally normal. IDK.

7. Skinfood Egg White Peel Off Pack

These are amazing in the grossest way. I apply them while re-watching Parks & Rec and then I peel them off and show Steve how gross it is. They're like Biore strips on crack, and they feel less painful to remove, but that might be in my head. Steve is always thoroughly grossed out and also intrigued so mission accomplished. ALSO the whole pack is $7 and comes with multiple sets. Can I get an Amen?

8. Bumble and Bumble Curl Defining Cream

Just purchased this, but I love that it leaves my curls soft and smells so good. Reviews are mixed on its performance, but so far so good for moi!

9. DP Hue Cool Blonde Shampoo

Added this to my rotation after my bottle of Unite ran out to help maintain my blonde in between highlighting sessions. My curls look bright instead of brassy and for that I am happy. Since it is very drying, I usually follow with a good conditioning mask like this one.

10. Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer in Light

Went in search of something similar to Laura Mercier's High Coverage Concealer (because apparently that doesn't exist anymore??? RIP) and I love this stuff. Not ridiculously priced compared to other similar concealers, full coverage, a little goes a long way. I was previously using this Nars concealer and this Urban Decay concealer which are both very highly rated, but I just didn't LOVE either of them enough to buy again. At least for now.

11. Physician's Formula Butter Bronzer Light

This is my favorite bronzer to use when summer is over for the following reasons:

  1. It smells like an amazing warm tropical island.
  2. It's lighter in color, so as my tan fades I switch to this lighter shade to avoid looking like Dirt Face. Also, I don't know why typing 'Dirt Face' made me think of the Andy Milonakis theme song, but it did so....I rock peas on my head, but don't call me a pea head.
  3. It is cheap.

Ok, those are my current faves. What are you loving right now??If you'd like to see more beauty posts like this you can subscribe here or follow me on Bloglovin'.xo.
