19 Goals I'm Setting for 2019
We are almost two weeks into the New Year, and since this post was so good for me last year I thought I'd do it again. I'm also posting two days before last year's list, so that's an improvement, right? I've seen lots of people fighting against resolutions this year; but for me, goals, dreams, and plans help keep me motivated and on track. I also love visualizing the year ahead. I think it's important to figure out what works for you as an individual, and then do that thing. I will say, it's less about checking off every single item and more about having a loose guide to look back on when I think I haven't made any progress all year. So, here are 19 goals I'm setting for myself in 2019.
19 Goals for 2019
1. Read three spiritual books. On my list are: In Sinu Jesu, The Inner Voice of Love, and Divine Mercy in My Soul.
2. Pay off my student loans & medical debts. I don't have much left, and I am SO looking forward to this one.
3. Make full time wages from blogging. Last year I made sort-of part-time wages, so we'll see. Even if it's just a repeat of that I'll be over the moon.
4. Partner with 3 of my favorite brands. I have specific ones in mind, but I'll keep them to myself for now. I'll let you know how this goes.
5. Travel to 7 new places. Self-explanatory.
6. Start & stick to a workout plan (finish PWR straight through). I love the BBG/PWR program through the SWEAT app, so I am sure this will be the thing I stick with.
7. Start a podcast & YT channel. Pipe dreams, but here's hoping.
8. Blog once a week. HA!!!! No really, I am going to try really hard. I've already failed.
9. Celebrate 5 years with Stephen. Cannot wait for this!!! Any suggestions about what we should do are so appreciated.
10. Attend daily Mass twice a month. Another pipe dream, but alas. We have multiple Mass times daily, even in a small parish, so no excuses and all that jazz.
11. Pray in Adoration once a month. This is always so healing for me, I just need to make the time to do it.
12. Add money to our savings monthly. THIS. If it's the only thing I do all year I will be happy.
13. Lose weight for my health. I know everyone is raging against weight loss, but I think you can be body positive and also have weight loss goals, especially if they are going to save your overall health. I would love to say that I am not focused on this, but I don't have that luxury right now. At my height and weight I need to weigh less in order to be healthy.
14. Be intentional about dating Steve. This is such a huge thing for me/us. I think we do a good job of spending time together, but could definitely be more intentional about dating, especially when things get busy.
15. Get pregnant and continue to research adoption. I was so thankful to get pregnant back in June, and I can only pray that it happens again for us this year. I'm still praying and trusting in God's perfect timing, and know that no matter what He will be walking alongside me every step of the way. He is revealing so much to me in this time without children, and it's renewing my faith in ways I couldn't have imagined. Also, I have a pretty solid partner to share this journey with, and for that I'm so thankful. #thankunextresolution
16. Read 30 books for fun. Last year my goal was to read twenty. I got through these: Crazy Rich Asians, The Woman in the Window, Lethal White, Need to Know, Force of Nature, Baltimore Blues, Undeniable, Why I Am Catholic, In a Strange City, Providence, Something in the Water, Into the Water, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck, The Woman in Cabin 10, The Silent Corner, And Then There Were None, Murder on the Orient Express, Everything Everything, Behind Closed Doors, Here's to Us.
17. Ask God how He would like OCYM to grow and how I can better lead. This is my prayer every year, and every year I am surprised in a way I thought I couldn't be. I can't wait to see how the Lord will work through OCYM this year!
18. Find an organization or service project to volunteer my time. Just need to write this here so I hold myself accountable!!
19. Be intentional in fostering deeper relationships. This is hard for me in this season of life. Everything is very 'go go go', and I feel the increasing call to slow down, take time, and invest in the relationships that mean the most to me. We only get one life and all that. But really, time is so valuable and I want to grow with those I love most in my life. So family, close friends, new friends, I'm looking at you. I am working to fill up my own spirit and soul to better at pour out to others.
20. Capsule wardrobe baby steps. Ok, I know I said 19, but also I forgot I want to work toward a capsule wardrobe. I know everyone is Marie-Kondo-ing the ish out of their lives because of this Netflix Doc, but for real. A total STUFF revamp is in order over here. Steve will tell you. He is basically Marie Kondo and I am Ariel with her Secret Grotto full of s—.
I'd love to hear some of your goals for the new year! Feel free to share in the comments! Or email me, or find me on Insta, per usual.
Happy Weekend, friends!

K.
