Celebrating Mother’s Day with Words & Art from Morgan Harper Nichols
A few months ago I was scrolling through Morgan Harper Nichols's beautiful Instagram feed & clicked through to her website. I stumbled upon her submit a story page, and decided to share our story of Hope & our miscarriage. I love the beauty and depth in her art and her words so much, and I was hoping our story would be one of the many she'd choose. Early in April I received a little surprise in my inbox: a message from MHN with not one but three images attached. I was so overjoyed & cried reading through her personal message and the art she created with us in mind. I'm including them here to share with you, in hopes that they might speak to you on your own journey. My plan is to print and frame two of them, and hang them above our bed next to our blind embossed vows print from Be A Heart. The third I am going to put up in our guest room alongside two beautiful prints so generously sent to me by another friend & incredible artist, Emily Runyan. Until then I'm using them as an iPhone background, because they are so beautiful.I am incredibly grateful to Morgan and so many others for sharing their gifts and talents with the world in this way. It is so healing to have a few tangible things as reminders of our little saint in heaven.Today I am thankful for all mothers, who sacrifice so much every day to make the world a better and brighter place. I'm especially grateful for my mother, and mother-in-law, and grandmothers, and all the spiritual mothers and women who've shaped me into the person I am today. To those for whom this day is especially difficult, know I am with you in prayer and solidarity. You are not forgotten.Xo,Katie
