Date Night: Maggpies Pizza, Ocean City, NJ
A few weeks ago Steve and I went on a date for the first time in 500 years, if you don't count watching reruns of The Office and eating Chipotle on the couch a date. Which I don't. Sort of. BUT my favorite coffee shop, Barefoot Market (La Colombe! Scones from heaven!), teamed up with the summer pop-up, Maggpies Pizza, to bring even more perfection to their establishment. The best news of all is they offer tomato pie, which is one of the five foods Steve and I can eat while dining out. Hashtag vegan problems. Here is my attempt at iPhone food photography: Anyway, we thought we'd give it a try and so I made our reservation online via the link in their insta. You can click here to find their current hours. I would suggest emailing to reserve a time & pie beforehand because they do sell out!
Our church is literally right up the street so Steve and I attended 4:30 Mass a St. Frances together and then made our way to Barefoot for our 5:45 res. I cannot sing enough praises for Maggpies. Seriously, Jess of New Girl level praise-singing.
The staff is friendly, the pizza is amazing, and we had the entire place to ourselves so it was basically a dream date for Memorial Day weekend here in OCNJ.Y'all this tomato pie (which I formerly did not believe in/support before the veg life) is so good. Honestly, so good I can't even imagine what their regular pizza must be like. It cannot be bad because it's a proven fact that adding cheese and meat to things only makes them tastes better. If I ever decide to throw veganism out the window I know where I am going to dinner.Steve and I are always looking for veg-friendly places that serve really delicious real food and Maggpies delivers on all accounts. It's inspiring to see people taking risks to follow their passion, and as someone who hopes to someday have a business of her own, I love seeing and supporting others who are doing it for real.Whether you are local to Ocean City or visiting for the summer this place is worth checking out. Just in case you are starving or currently eating a boring salad here are some pics of their different offerings. Photos from the super-talented Liz Barrella The rest of our date consisted of us buying a mattress and me being stressed about the best place to set it up in the closet guest room, so Mass and dinner were definitely the highlights. This is 29, folks. You can find Maggpies Pizza at their select dates & times inside Barefoot Market on 214 West Avenue, Ocean City, NJ.Go eat here! Support women entrepreneurs and local small business! Tell me if you do!
