Seven Podcasts I Can't Stop Listening To

living room home decorI know podcasts have been around for a bit & I am late to the game, but in an effort to make 2017 a year with less screen time (especially before bed) I am being more intentional and tuning in. Also, I bought fresh flowers yesterday for the first time in forever, so I am sharing them with you because Monday. Here are the seven podcasts I can't stop listening to:p.s.- A few are explicit & sometimes heavy in subject matter, so just be aware of that before listening. I have put an [E] by said podcasts.

Serial [E]

Link Here.

  1. OH MY GOSH ADNAN SYED.I am just obsessed with this story, and I honestly do not know what to think. I feel like he is innocent, to a degree, but also I just have no idea. Thoughts? Theories? Also, has anyone seen 'The Night Of' because I feel like it's the true-crime version of that show. ps if you have not watched that show GO.
  2. Any thoughts on the Bowe Bergdahl storyline? Not loving it but also not hating it so trying to stick it out & word is there's a new series from the same people called S-Town dropping in March that sounds right up my alley. Shady business surrounding an unsolved murder in rural Alabama? Yes, please.

The Upside Down Podcast

Link Here.SO many good conversations about faith & life from five very real women. I found this podcast through another blog I love: Shannon of We A Great Parade is one of the five. I love the ecumenical nature & the authenticity in every episode. They're all great but two of my favorite episodes are: All About Adoption & Hashtag Blessed.

How I Built This

Link Here.I am perpetually obsessed with the stories of entreprenuers, creatives & experts and their individual journeys.  Every little behind the scenes detail of their tireless work & how it finally translates into a realized dream is so inspiring. Being a business owner is still very much a bucket list item for my own journey, so I feel drawn to the life & the person(s) behind the brands. If you're the same way, this podcast is for you. It covers the creation of companies like Airbnb & Instagram, and highlights individual entrepreneurs in various fields. Well worth a listen.blush roses & sherwin williams breaktime

Anna Faris is Unqualified [E]

Link Here.If you have known me for more than 15 minutes, there is a chance I've made reference to and/or quoted the movie Just Friends. It is highly underrated & to quote the movie, "She's like a box of fine wine." Ryan Reynolds is hysterical, but for me most of the laughs come from Anna Faris. She is a comedic genius who happens to be married to another favorite comedic genius--Chris Pratt of Parks & Rec fame (s/o to Andy & Mouse Rat), and I just can't imagine the level of humor in their collective household. In her podcast she interviews celebrities for their sub-par relationship advice. LOL.

UMD Newman Catholic Campus Ministry

Link Here.I first heard Father Mike speak at a Steubenville Conference, and I just thought his homily was so dynamic. I love being able to listen on a regular basis. You can check them out via the link or on your podcast app, under the title listed above.

Ted Talks & Ted Radio Hour

JUST ALL OF THESE.Especially the most recent on the radio hour about SCREEN TIME. It's like: Hello, Katie, this is for you!!! I also love the Ted Talks categories: Business, Health, and Society & Culture.

The Minimalists Podcast

Link HereSometime last year I read Marie Kondo's The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up and since then I have been on a mission to have less. Every time I get angry/anxious I have the sudden desire to THROW. JUNK. OUT.I have toyed with the idea of a capsule wardrobe, but haven't fully committed, and so here I am half-assing. On NYE in true party-animal fashion, Steve and I watched the Minimalists documentary on Netflix. We love love loved it & went crazy donating a bunch of our clothes & house items so now our closet looks like this:marie kondo closet after transformation podcastsThere are a few dresses to the right, and a few of Steve's things/winter jackets to the left, shoes in the basket, scarves and clutches in the wire baskets to the left & right and that.is.it.Ladies & gentlemen, I have a long way to go but this is revolutionary for me. Anyway, sidetracked, I found the Minimalists podcast & it has been helpful in continuing our desire to minimize junk in our life.Ok, that's all for now. Hope you are enjoying this Monday! What are your favorite podcasts?? Come at me, bro.
