Summer Stripes: Draper James Inspired Look for Less
Hi Hi hiiiiii!I haven't blogged in what feels like forever because July has been stupid busy for me. But I am back from the USCCB Convocation of Catholic Leaders, and I just finished my SEVENTH Vacation Bible School, so I finally have a moment to breathe and wear real clothes. Hence, this style post. If you missed my most recent post about my favorite slides for summer you can check it out here. I saw a striped shirt/navy skirt Draper James photo of Reese (Queen! Elle Woods! My style star!) and I just had to have it. Then I found out the entire outfit cost about $350 and I was like LOLOLOLOLOLLLLL NOT IN THIS LIFETIME.The good news is, I can bargain shop. My dad, who LOVES ROSS AND TJMAXX AND MARSHALLS more than any other stores in America, has taught me well. My mother hates shopping, so she has taught me nothing. Just kidding. She's taught me how to fight with insurance companies on the phone, and that is a serious life skill.
Side-by- Side Comparison: Draper James Cost $350
Not identical, but close enough. I feel so American with the flag in the background, I just need a beer in hand and I'd be the picture of patriotism.Anyway.Here are a few more shots of my version of the outfit, and below the photos I've linked a bunch of similar options. I found my striped top at Tommy's Folly Boutique inside the Congress Hall Hotel in Cape May. The brand is Skies Are Blue and it cost me $48. The Skirt was $13 on clearance at Marshalls. The shoes are Calvin Klein from last year at Marshalls, and I can't remember exact cost but I know I paid less than $40. Which means the entire outfit cost me about $100. If you can afford the original Draper James ensemble, you can find the skirt here and the top on sale here. I also love love love it in pink gingham here
