Daisy Jane is Two!
Our Daisy girl is two!
Two years ago at 2:30 pm on a Friday in the height of the pandemic, this little miracle girl was born into the world. After an exhausting labor and hours of pushing, it was a joy I cannot adequately describe to hear her first cry. There is one moment I will never forget, when they brought her over to the operating table and I couldn’t hold her yet. She was crying her little her little lungs out & I said, “you’re ok, Daisy.”She stopped crying at the sound of my voice & Steve held her close so I could see her beautiful little face. What a life-changing day.
We had the best time yesterday celebrating with family & all her favorite Disney characters: Moana, Mirabel, Ariel, Olaf, and Tangled Baby aka Rapunzel.
I made a box of funfetti cupcakes and found this vegan carrot cake recipe that I used, too. Both were a hit! We ordered pizza from Marios & Steve made a big salad & it was so nice to be with our families!
The star of the show was the party city garland hung over the kitchen doorway. Daisy played in it all afternoon— best $5 I ever spent. Her crown I found here online & had embroidered— it’s adjustable so she can wear for years to come! I also found these fun cupcake liners & toppers and this tassel fringe garland that would be perfect for an Encanto theme. Her dress is this one and mine is old Madewell. I wore it last year on her birthday and I’m thinking maybe I’ll make it a tradition!
The Olaf piñata was not well-received so we nixed that pretty quickly. If anyone wants a piñata full of candy, lmk.
I am so thankful to be this girl’s mama! She is affectionate & funny & sweet & smart & strong. It is pure gift to watch her grow. Thank you, Lord for our dear Daisy Jane ✨
